Readers of Excellence Magazine will be familiar with the work of Staff Illustrator, Steve Anderson, this series of original artwork has been painstakingly crafted and edited for this very special commemorative print. The print features 50 original illustrations, one for each year of 911 production.

Stuttgart/New York. With the theme “The Sound of Porsche: Stories of the Brand” Porsche has created a completely new, interactive brand experience with its first stop in New York City for three weeks. The sports car manufacturer from Stuttgart has opened an exclusive pop-up store in the style of a modern music store in Manhattan’s trendy Meatpacking District and invites visitors to discover Porsche and its fascinating sports cars in various ways. The store opening was celebrated on 15 September 2014 – moderated by fashion icon Angela Simmons and with guests including Porsche works drivers Brendon Hartley and Patrick Long, as well as actor and racing driver Patrick Dempsey, who has been a firm part of the Porsche motorsport family since 2013 with his team Dempsey Racing.

The Sound of Porsche: The German sports car manufacturer has created a completely new interactive brand experience with an exclusive temporary pop-up store in the style of a modern music store in New York's trendy Meatpacking District.

“The new marketing format enables us to connect with young and young-at-heart visitors in an appealing way. The event space is divided into three areas and comprises a Sound Lab, Media Stations and a Design Corner. The Sound Lab is all about the cult car Porsche 911*. The 911 is a prime example of design, innovation, quality and perfection, and the film “From Draft to Drift – The Porsche 911” conveys this particularly clearly to visitors.

In addition, visitors can take a virtual ride and become acquainted with the 911 through sound and visualisation. They can choose between the sound backdrop of a city, a rural setting in a drive through the mountains or a race on the Nürburgring racetrack.

The Media Stations allow visitors to experience 16 specially produced stories all about the brand. The visual highlights include the contributions “Electrifying Performance” and “One of Us” with Porsche racing drivers Mark Webber and Patrick Dempsey.

Porsche is cooperating with two partners for the Sound of Porsche. The Sound Lab is equipped by Bose and the entire furnishings are supplied by Walter Knoll.

The Sound of Porsche (446 West 14th Street) is open to the general public every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time from 16 September to 5 October. New York is the first stop for The Sound of Porsche. The brand presentation will later also be shown in London and Shanghai.

The world’s largest gathering of Porsche race cars, drivers and fans moves forward two weeks.
Porsche Announces Date Change for Rennsport Reunion V – Now September 25- 27, 2015

Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca have announced today that the next Porsche Rennsport Reunion will now take place at the famed California racetrack the weekend of September 25 – 27, 2015, two weeks earlier than originally planned.

The date change is due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict with the World Endurance Championship (WEC) racing series.

“We felt it would be in the best interest for all parties to take this unusual step and move the date,” said Detlev von Platen, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “By moving
Rennsport Reunion V ahead two weeks, we ensure that our current 919 Hybrid LMP1 and 911 RSR race teams, and more importantly, our new generation of racing heroes can join our racing
legends and be part of the festivities among our many fans.”

Porsche announces Rennsport Reunion V to be held October 2015

Hosted by PCNA, Rennsport Reunion V will, once again, bring together an extraordinary gathering of significant Porsche vintage and current racecars, as well those who have designed, engineered, and driven them to victory in the world’s most famous sports car races. The three-day program of on-track competition will be complemented by a Concours d’Elegance, which is open to invited race participants, and special activities celebrating each of the six decades of legendary Porsche racecars.

Rennsport will return to Laguna Seca – Rennsport Reunion V will, once again, bring together an extraordinary gathering of significant Porsche vintage and current racecars, as well those who have designed, engineered and driven them to victory in the world’s most famous sports car races. The three-day program of on-track competition will be complemented by a Concours d’Elegance, which is open to invited race participants, and special activities celebrating each of the six decades of legendary Porsche racecars.

This incomparable event has been held about every three years. After staging the first three rounds in the East, with the inaugural at Lime Rock Park in 2001, Rennsport Reunion IV moved west in 2011, tapping into a vast array of west coast car aficionados and Porsche enthusiasts. “While the Rennsport name from the beginning has become a staple fixture for international collectors and racers, choosing the Monterey Peninsula opened up this one-of-a-kind gathering to the many Porsche fans in California and beyond who were previously unable to attend,” said Detlev von Platen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Cars North America. “Approximately 40,000 spectators for the weekend, and a record number of race cars and participants, proved that our decision to come here was correct.”

“After that truly rare gathering of significant Porsche racecars on the West Coast in 2011, we can expect an even larger number of fans of the Stuttgart sports car icon to attend next year,” predicted Gill Campbell, CEO and general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “We are proud that Porsche will come back to our track where it has a long racing tradition, and my team and I look forward to help making this the best Rennsport Reunion ever.”

Porsche Rennsport Reunion V will assemble a wide variety of Porsche’s most historic racing models from the nimble mid-engine 550 Spyder of the mid-Fifties, through the mighty 917 and 956/962 of the Seventies and Eighties, to the highly successful 911 GT3 RSR and RS Spyder of the last decade. Special tribute will be paid to the car that embodies Porsche’s return to the top of sports car racing. The 919 LMP1 Prototype is the guarantee that Porsche motorsports – and Rennsport Reunion – have a successful future.

During Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV, approximately 1,300 Porsche Club of America (PCA) member-owned Porsche models from the past 66 years helped fill the show fields, race classes, and parking lots of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. For the upcoming fifth rendition, the PCA, celebrating its 60th year in 2015, will once again play an integral role, capping their year-long celebration.
